Use Clear Calls-to-Action

One mistake nonprofits often make on social media is posting without a clear call-to-action (CTA). Even if your post is inspiring, people need to know exactly what you’d like them to do next.

A CTA doesn’t always have to be “donate now.” It can be simple and tailored to your goals.

Here are some examples:

  • “Share this post to spread the word.”

  • “Sign up for our upcoming event.”

  • “Tag a friend who would love to volunteer.”

  • “Click the link in our bio to learn more.”

When you give your audience a next step, you turn passive scrolling into active support.

Quick Tip:

Every post should answer this question: “What do I want my audience to do after seeing this?”
